When it comes to car accidents, one in five injuries are the result of drivers that are distracted.  In today’s busy world, we often multitask. Most of us are guilty of texting, talking on the phone, smoking a cigarette, or even checking our email while we’re behind the wheel.

But it’s risky to drive with distractions and everyday, it results in tragic and sometimes fatal car accidents. If you’ve been injured in a car accident, you will want to find a qualified attorney to represent you. Unfortunately, ambulance chasers abound these days and sometimes you car accident attorney will let you down. If you’ve been working with a lawyer that isn’t meeting your expectations, it might be time to walk away and seek legal counsel elsewhere.

You should always remember that the attorney is working for you.  You may find that there are times when the attorney does not appear to be listening to you and they are not putting your best interests first.  If you believe that this is happening then you should fire the car accident attorney that you have hired.  The client is always in control.  It is up to you if you would like to work with the attorney or not.

There will inevitably be times when you will have questions for your attorney.  He or she should be answering any and all questions that you have.  When you ask a question you shouldn’t have to wait for days or weeks for a response.  If you feel like the attorney is not answering your questions in a timely manner, then you may want to think about finding another one.

Have you have made appointments only to arrive and find that your attorney isn’t even in the office?  Always remember that you are a paying customer.  You do not deserve to be mistreated, or stood up for appointments.  If your attorney doesn’t give you the respect to show up for appointments on time, then what makes you think that he or she will actually be on time for appointment in court to represent you?

There may be times when you will need to contact your attorney by phone or by email.  When you do this you should expect to hear back from them in a reasonable amount of time.  If you have attempted to make contact with your attorney on more than one occasion, and you have not heard back from them then you should move on and find another attorney.
